Made for a special friend 🙂  The secret to making the frosting such a beautiful purple?  Nope, not food coloring~!  Freeze dried blueberries~! 🙂

There was no time to take pictures before these cupcakes were whisked away to the birthday girl…so this picture is courtesy of the birthday girl 🙂

Happy Bridal Shower Michelle~!  We’ve known each other since way back when..I knew her when she was a cute spherical shaped baby 🙂  and now she’s this tall, beautiful woman about to get married~!  So happy to celebrate your upcoming marriage~!

These cupcakes are a Lavender Sprinkles best seller 🙂

I’ve been wanting to make these cupcakes for years but have been out of town for the last few Easters.  The idea is from the Martha Stewart Cupcakes book.    The kids at church loved them 🙂

My regular chocolate cupcakes with a creamy peanut butter cream cheese frosting.  Topped with chocolate flowers with pearl centers.  My first time making the chocolate flowers.  If I had been more patient and had more time to let the chocolate set a little bit more, they probably would’ve had a better shape.  But I think they turned out ok 🙂

This unassuming chocolate cupcake…

but wait, what’s that in there?

a whole ferrero rocher~!  you know, the gold wrapped chocolate candies?  YUM.

here’s proof:

and the birthday girl loved them~!  🙂

I had a birthday dinner and a farewell party to attend all in the same evening.  The birthday girl loves ginger (this I was certain) and I had a hunch the guest of honor would appreciate the ginger as well…so even though I H.A.T.E. ginger, I made these cupcakes~!

I think they tasted good?  If you like ginger? 🙂

I remember, when I was younger, whenever we went to Asia for vacation, the restaurants always offered Coke, Sprite, orange juice, and guava juice to their younger patrons.  I always chose the guava juice~!  Fast forward several years, I spent a summer in California studying art and lived across the street from a Ralph’s grocery store.  This is where I rediscovered guava juice~!  In Asia, I always remember it being white.  But in California, it was pink~!  It brought back so many childhood memories…and I still think it’s delicious~!  Recently, I randomly came across this block of guava paste.  I’ve never seen it before and had no idea what I would do with it, but I knew I had to have it.

As I often browse the web for new recipes to try out, I happened upon a guava bars recipe~!  What were the chances that I had just purchased the main ingredient of the recipe??  They definitely did not disappoint~!

Now if only I could remember where I bought this block of guava paste..because I could really use more of these bars~!

Happy (now belated) birthday Ashley~!

These were the best red velvet cupcakes (with cream cheese frosting of course~!) I’ve ever made~!  Bright red, soft, moist crumb, perfect~!  I’ve tried so many recipes out and have never been satisfied…but I have now found my perfect recipe 🙂  I thought I had more pictures of the cupcakes too, but I think I was in a rush 🙂

**EDIT**

I knew I took these pictures~!

Just to show just how beautifully red they were~!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

These turned out delish.  I made my regular chocolate cake recipe but then when I was pouring the batter into the cupcake wrappers, I put a whole dark chocolate raspberry Lindt Truffle in there!  It melted during the cooking and kind of made a hard chocolate bottom for the cupcake, but it kind of infused some of the raspberry into the cake part.  Then they are frosted with a raspberry buttercream frosting and topped with raspberries filled with chocolate ganache.  mmMmMMm 🙂

I wonder how many #1 fan ate?  I forgot to ask..

Sorry for the lack of posts recently…the Photographer’s camera cable made an unplanned trip to Texas and it took a super long time for the cable to make it’s way back to NYC again *ahem*  Anyway, we will be back to regular posting again soon..I promise~! 🙂

…or so the recipe I followed called this.  It was definitely a very cake-y cookie.  It easily had a cup more flour than my regular chocolate cookie recipe~!  In the end, I think I prefer my usual chocolate chip cookie recipe 🙂  But these were still gobbled up by everyone (and myself~!).

As you see, I was using up leftover christmas m&ms 🙂
